ISD Senior Secondary (CBSE) English School observed World Environment Day with a series of meaningful programmes aimed at creating environmental awareness and inspiring students to become responsible stewards of nature.
The celebration commenced with a WhatsApp poster campaign carrying the inspiring message, “Go Green, Keep the Earth Clean,” encouraging students, parents, and the wider community to adopt eco-friendly practices and contribute to a greener planet.
As part of the celebrations, a sapling distribution and plantation drive was organised section-wise. Students from Kindergarten, Classes I & II, Classes III–V, Classes VI–VIII, and Classes IX–XII enthusiastically participated in planting saplings within the school campus and at their homes. The initiative highlighted the importance of increasing green cover and protecting the environment for future generations.
A thought-provoking World Environment Day speech was delivered by Abdul Wadood, Class XII , emphasizing the urgent need for environmental conservation, sustainable living, and collective action to combat climate change. Students were encouraged to adopt simple yet effective eco-friendly habits in their daily lives.
The programme also featured an Environment Day Oath led by Vedha Sooraj, Class VII, during which students and teachers pledged to protect nature, conserve natural resources, reduce pollution, and work together for a cleaner, healthier, and greener Earth.
Adding a creative touch to the celebration, students actively participated in a “Green Earth” plant-making activity, showcasing their artistic talents while expressing their commitment to environmental protection through innovative craftwork.
